How the Love Affair Began... On a visit to Prenzel Kapiti in early 2004 Sarah and her husband fell in love with the taste and quality of Prenzel products... they made an excited phone call to Prenzel Distillery owners Chris & Hugh Steadman and took the first step on their Prenzel journey. On returning home they joined forces with Mum & Dad - Mavis and Clive - in Howick and the dream of Prenzel of Whitford was born. Less than eight months later Mavis & Sarah and the team opened Prenzel of Whitford in October 2004.
In 2007, Mavis and Sarah's Prenzel of Whitford store was was judged Winner of the Food and Beverage Category at the Top Shop Retail Excellence Awards.
Also in that year the store was voted as a finalist in the Excellence in Tourism category at the Westpac Manukau Business Excellence Awards.
In September 2008 "The Prenzel Shop" Botany was opened in response to requests from a large following of Prenzel customers who live further out from Whitford.
"The Prenzel Shop" Botany is becoming very popular and noted for its lovely window displays that often will reflect the seasons as well as various shop promotions all in a very colourful way.
